Upgrade your portfolio of saws with this superb, precision weighted pull saw

They say a good craftsman never blames his tools, but there is a reason why a Michelin star chef never uses a blunt knife. Skill and imagination can help you build a creation you’re proud of, but using the right tools will make the journey more enjoyable with much better results.

We know this at Byakko and are proud that we are able to bring you the JPS-265SH Japanese Pull Saw. The hand saw is truly exceptional with a design that uses high carbon steel for the blade and a tactile rubber-coating along the full length of the handle. It will make your woodwork projects come to life and not let your tools hold you back.

The benefit of pull saws will be common knowledge to those who already have experience in using these hand saws for cutting wood as well as other similar materials, but have a look at the features in more detail below.

We’re sure this Japanese saw will complement the other carpentry hand tools you already have.

Benefits of Pull Saws

Japanese carpentry is renowned across the globe and Japanese saws have been used within their native land for centuries. They are a relatively new type of saw to the western world compared with traditional western hand saws. These saws cut on the push stroke, whereas the teeth on these Japanese saws are angled towards the handle and hence cut on the pull stroke.

The immense benefit of this is that blades are much thinner than push-stroke saws as there is no need to compensate for the risk of the blade buckling. Thinner blades mean cutting through less material, and hence more efficient and precise cuts. Mastering using this type of saw is easy and once you’re proficient, you’ll find that using your own body weight to anchor your timber whilst pulling the saw will become an effortless motion.
